Baby Units

The units have their own Senior Nursery Nurse who is a fully qualified nursery nurse with a great deal of experience in the organising and running of a day nursery. They are assisted by nursery nurses and nursery assistants who specialise in the care of babies.

Each child has a baby information sheet which is given to the parents for them to write in their child's daily routine and any other information the baby unit staff might need to know from time to time. Each day the unit's staff write a log for the individual child to inform parents as to how their child's day has gone, including their sleep times and what food and milk they have consumed. This helps ensure good communication between staff and parents.

When the children are being weaned on to adult food they can have the nursery meals, which can be blended to the right consistency. Menus are displayed in the unit for each week, along with the weekly activity plan. When the children are old enough the staff will start to introduce them into the main nursery to ease the transition.
