The Main Units
We want you to have peace of mind when you leave your children with us, knowing that they will be loved and cared for in a friendly, safe and cheerful environment.
Children learn when they are in a happy atmosphere and we provide a variety of equipment and activities especially selected to enhance their learning experience.
Children aged 0-3 follow the 'Birth to 3 Matters' framework and children aged 3-5 embark on the Foundation Stage Curriculum. The curricular are overseen by qualified teachers.
Every day time is devoted to develop their language, number, reading and writing skills. The children are divided into very small groups to help the learning process.
As a close-knit friendly organisation it is of utmost importance for us to have the best staff. All staff at the nursery has been selected for their expertise, caring disposition and enthusiasm for working with young children, as well as their excellent communication skills.
Regular staff meetings take place to provide continuity of learning. Formal Parents' Evenings are held, but you are of course welcome to speak to members of staff whenever you feel the need arises.
Care is taken to ensure the children have adequate rest periods, structured learning activities, and both indoor and outdoor play sessions. They are given time to express themselves through role play, music and free choice activities.
All this develops their intellectual, emotional and social abilities and responses as well as their physical, motor and finer manipulative skills.
All staff are either fully qualified or undergoing training to achieve level 2 or above in appropriate childcare qualifications. All staff is encouraged to attend regular courses to enhance professional development and practice. All staff receives training in paediatric first aid, which includes infant resuscitation, and child protection.
We feel this gives the right blend of experience and keenness to learn, and keeps us right up to date with any new developments.
Meals are freshly prepared on site, with consideration given to ensure a varied and well- balanced diet. Vegetarians and special diets are catered for and a copy of the weekly menu is displayed on the notice board. Meal times are conducted in a relaxed atmosphere and encouragement is given to aid socially acceptable behaviour. At all times the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained.
Fire practices are regularly carried out, and there is a no-smoking policy enforced in the premises.
You will be asked to provide medical details of your child before joining the nursery. We regret that any children who were sick the previous night or who are unwell on the day will not be admitted to the nursery, in order to prevent the other children being infected.
