Pre-School

In the pre-school it is our aim to give the children a 'flying start' into school and with an enthusiasm for learning.

The children are encouraged to listen, concentrate, turn take and to use their language skills to the full.

We help the children to become independent and confident by learning to be responsible for their own belongings, helping to tidy up when activities are over and to support their friends when needed.

The children are helped to be respectful of adults, other children and themselves in the warm, caring and secure nursery environment.

We follow the Foundation Stage which will continue through their reception class at school and there is an emphasis on early literacy, numeracy and personal, social and emotional skills.

The children are regularly observed to see how they are developing and parents are always welcome to discuss their child's progress with staff.

The day is structured to incorporate the broadest curriculum we can offer with extra curricula activities happening on most days of the week.

We invite heads of local schools to come in and talk to the parents. We are proud to have a good rapport with the schools our children go onto and we look forward to hearing of their future achievements and to know we have sown the seeds for a firm foundation.
