FUNDING INFORMATION
OPENING HOURS
FSDN is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm for 52 weeks per year (excluding Bank Holidays)
We operate sessional day care, offering full or half days.
We do not offer term-time places.
FUNDED SESSIONS
Funded sessions are operated in the afternoon from 1:30pm until 6pm.
Our fees including the fees for funded sessions are inclusive of all meals, snacks, extra-curricular activities (Spanish lessons, EZEE Sport, trips to the Bakery/Train Station/Library etc), tapestry updates, trips and special celebration days (including Christmas Nativity, Graduation Celebrations etc) that may occur between the hours of operation. We do not request an extra fee.
Types of funding
- Free early education for eligible 2 year olds (previous known as FEET)
- Universal Funding - up to 15 hours per week for all 3 and 4 year olds *
- Working Parent Entitlement - up to 30 hours per week for eligible families, available for children 9 months + **
Funding Eligibility Terms
Children become eligible for funding under from the following terms:
- Autumn Term (1st September to 31st December) : funding from January
- Spring Term (1st January to 31st March) : funding from April
- Summer Term (1st April to 31st August) : funding from September
How funding works at FSDN
FSDN is open for 52 weeks in the year, however DfE funding is available for 38 weeks only (term time).
Parents/carers are therefore required to fee pay for the non-funded weeks.
We stretch our funding over 50.6 weeks of the year to offer predicable invoices for our parents/carers.
Each day parents/carers can receive a maximum of 4.506 funded hours per day (approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes funding per day).
The number of funded hours you can claim is dependent on how many days a week your child attends that include afternoon sessions.
Our funded fees are applicable for children accessing their full quota of funding from September to August. Our nursery fees will differ slightly for children accessing their funding in January and April as the remaining funded hours available until the end of the academic year in September is less.
* Up to 15 hours of funding over 38 weeks stretched over 50.6 weeks of the year equals up to 11.265 funded hours per week.
** Up to 30 hours of funding over 38 weeks stretched over 50.6 weeks of the year equals up to 22.530 funded hours per week.
We fully appreciate that the funding process and how we apply it can appear complicated, but it is important to us that you are confident in how the funding would be delivered and the impact it would have on any additional fees you would be paying for.

APPLYING FOR FUNDING
- Universal Funding (Up to 15 hours) does not require an application. Parents/Carers will be provided with a funding declaration form before the start of each term.
- Working Parent Entitlement (WPE) Requires an application by parents/carers.
- Early learning for 2 year olds (previously
FEET) requires an application by parents/carers.
TAX FREE CHILDCARE
For eligible working parents who can get a £2 top-up for every £8 towards the cost of their childcare.
You'll need to set up a childcare account, which both you and the government will pay into. You can then use this money to pay u for your nursery fees. The total top-up you can get for each child is £500 every 3 months (up to £2,000 per year). This goes up to £1,000 every 3 months if your child is disabled (up to £4,000 per year).
You'll usually need to be working (or returning to work) and you can claim tax free childcare until the child is 11 years old (16 years old if disabled).
